Investigation Underway After Abandoned Baby Found in Sharjah
Authorities seek the parents of an infant left beside a trash bin in Al Khazamyah area.
Sharjah Police have initiated an investigation following the discovery of a baby boy who was abandoned near a trash bin in the Al Khazamyah area on May 6 at approximately 10 PM. A municipal worker, while emptying a nearby garbage container, found the infant in a stroller beside the bin and promptly alerted the authorities.
Emergency services, including a police patrol and an ambulance, responded quickly to the scene.
The baby, estimated to be around eight months old, was transported to Al Qasimi Hospital for medical attention.
Upon evaluation, medical staff determined that the infant required immediate care.
In light of the situation, Sharjah Police have launched a thorough investigation aimed at locating the child's parents.
The hospital is providing all necessary treatment and a comprehensive medical check-up for the infant before he is placed in the care of the local Child Protection Committee, according to a police spokesperson.
The incident has raised concerns regarding the welfare of vulnerable children in the region, and authorities continue to seek information regarding the circumstances surrounding the abandonment.
