Effective February 13, 2025, Indian passport holders with valid visas from select countries can enter the UAE without prior visa requirements.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced an expansion of its visa exemption policy for Indian nationals and their family members holding ordinary passports.
The new policy will come into effect on February 13, 2025, allowing entry without a prior visa for those possessing a valid visa, residence permit, or green card from six additional countries.
This expansion adds to the previous list including the United States, member states of the European Union, and the United Kingdom.
The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs, and Security Ports outlined that Indian nationals meeting the criteria from the aforementioned nations, as well as from Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada, will be granted a visa upon arrival at all approved entry points within the UAE.
To qualify, travelers must have a passport valid for at least six months and pay the applicable entry fees according to the UAE's regulations.
The expansion of the visa exemption reflects the historical relations between the UAE and India.
It is expected to facilitate easier movement for Indian citizens and their families, providing substantial opportunities for exploration, residence, and employment in the UAE.
Additionally, it aims to attract talent and entrepreneurs, bolstering the UAE's status as a global financial, tourism, and economic hub, supported by advanced infrastructure and a favorable business environment.
