Absa Bank Plans Representative Office Opening in Dubai
The South African bank aims to enhance trade and investment links between the Middle East and Africa.
Absa Group, the third largest bank in South Africa by assets, plans to establish a representative office in Dubai to tap into the growing trade and investment flows between the Middle East and Africa.
Yasmin Masi tellah, the Chief Executive of Absa's Corporate and Investment Banking unit, announced the intention to open the office in the first quarter of 2026, contingent upon regulatory approvals.
The new office is expected to facilitate services for African clients looking to operate in Gulf states, as well as for Middle Eastern companies seeking entry into African markets.
Absa's decision to choose Dubai is attributed to the city's status as a hub for numerous clients aiming to invest in infrastructure projects across Africa.
