Abu Dhabi Food Authority Closes 'Chittagong' Restaurant
The closure follows repeated food safety violations that pose health risks to the public.
The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority has issued an administrative closure order for the 'Chittagong' restaurant located in the New Industrial City of Abu Dhabi's Al Dhafra region.
The establishment, which holds commercial license (CN-1200163), was found to be in violation of Law No. (2) of 2008 concerning food safety in Abu Dhabi, along with related regulations, due to its potential threat to public health.
According to food safety inspection reports, the decision to close the establishment was made following a series of repeated food safety infractions, with ineffective implementation of corrective measures.
This prompted immediate action to ensure food safety and protect consumers' health.
The administrative closure will remain in effect until the reasons for the violation have been addressed.
The restaurant may resume operations once it has fully corrected its conditions and complied with all food safety requirements.
The authority noted that the administrative closure and identification of violations are part of its strategy to enhance the food safety framework in Abu Dhabi.
All food establishments are subject to regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations, with a focus on the proactive protection of consumers and the obligation of all establishments to adhere to food safety standards.
The authority has urged the public to report any violations observed in any food establishment or suspicions regarding food content by contacting the Abu Dhabi Government's toll-free number, 800555, enabling inspectors to take necessary actions to ensure safe and healthy food for all community members in Abu Dhabi.
