American Hospital and Harvard Launch Initiative to Train Young Emirati Leaders in Healthcare Management
A partnership aims to develop 100 young Emirati leaders through a comprehensive training program in Dubai.
The American Hospital in Dubai, in collaboration with Harvard's Institutional Education, has announced an initiative designed to prepare 100 young Emirati leaders in the field of healthcare management.
The official announcement and contract signing took place at the Museum of the Future, a leading symbol of innovation in Dubai, showcasing the initiative's commitment to blending forward-thinking vision with global education and local expertise.
Present at the event were Sharif Bashara, CEO of the American Hospital, and Vinay Hepar, Vice President and Head of Harvard Institutional Education, alongside various officials from both organizations.
The initiative spans nine months, beginning with an intensive six-month academic program conducted in partnership with Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
The program will be held in-person in Dubai and will feature high-level lectures and workshops in leadership, management, healthcare policy, and institutional transformation.
This academic program will be complemented by a three-month practical training phase within the American Hospital, where participants will be assigned to different administrative departments to gain real-world experience that will prepare them for leadership roles in future healthcare institutions.
Sharif Bashara stated, "When we pledged to invest in Emirati minds, we meant every word.
From the Museum of the Future, we launch this initiative which we believe will contribute to shaping a new generation of leaders capable of redefining the future of the healthcare sector in the country."
Vinay Hepar commented, "At Harvard Institutional Education, we believe in the importance of developing leaders who will drive the world forward.
Our partnership with the American Hospital in Dubai exemplifies an inspiring collaboration between global educational institutions and leading healthcare organizations.
We are excited to see the positive impact this initiative will have on the future of the healthcare system in the UAE."
This initiative is the first of its kind combining a private healthcare institution with Harvard Institutional Education in a program dedicated to training national leaders in healthcare management, enhancing Dubai's position as a global center for talent development and healthcare innovation.
