Dubai Real Estate Giant Sobha Group Awards Dh150 Million in Employee Bonuses

Chairman Ravi Menon credits the exceptional dedication of employees as financial bonuses are distributed across departments.
In a notable gesture of appreciation, Dubai-based luxury real estate developer Sobha Group has awarded a substantial Dh150 million bonus to its employees.

Announced on Wednesday, this bonus was extended to staff members who do not typically fall under the company’s regular incentive programmes, reflecting a comprehensive appreciation of employee efforts across various departments.

Ravi Menon, Chairman of Sobha Group, expressed that this financial reward acknowledges the skills, passion, and unwavering dedication of its workforce towards the company's growth.

He articulated, “This special bonus is our way of expressing gratitude for the resilience our employees have shown, especially pushing boundaries in the past year and making a meaningful difference.” The bonuses, which were distributed in December 2024, underscore the company's commitment to fostering a culture of recognition and motivation.

Sobha Group's bonus distribution aligns with wider trends in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, where a Bayt.com survey highlighted that approximately 77 percent of employees receive monetary benefits like bonuses or overtime pay.

The survey also revealed a disparity, with men being more likely to secure these financial perks, in contrast to women who are more likely to access benefits that support work-life balance.

In addition to financial recognition, Sobha Group has emphasized its dedication to building an effective and positive workplace.

The firm's employee reward programmes are grounded in its core values of integrity, innovation, and excellence.

These initiatives have not only bolstered the company's status as an employer of choice but also earned it accolades such as the 'Best Place to Work' certification, affirming its commitment to inclusive and supportive employment practices.

The distribution of bonuses by Sobha Group coincides with discussions across the UAE regarding new policies aimed at enhancing family-friendly work environments, particularly for mothers who hope for reduced office hours and increased remote work opportunities.

Such measures are seen as integral to supporting diverse workforce needs and achieving a balanced professional ecosystem.

Sobha Group's decision is a reflective appreciation of its employees' contributions, as the company continues to navigate and excel in Dubai's competitive real estate sector.

The acknowledgment of substantial efforts not only promotes company loyalty but also highlights the importance of valuing human capital as a fundamental asset in achieving business success.
