Embracing the Cool: UAE Winter Ushers in Plummeting Temperatures and Rainy Days
A Chilly Transformation as UAE Welcomes Invigorating Winter Weather
As the UAE transitions into its winter months, the country's residents are advised to prepare for a significant dip in temperatures, with forecasts suggesting lows of 12°C in the coming weeks.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has indicated that December would bring not only a brisk chill but also increased chances of rainfall, supported by north-westerly winds.
Dr. Ahmed Habib, a climate expert at the NCM, elaborated on this seasonal shift, noting, 'From December 16 onwards, the UAE will experience colder air masses, leading to a drop in temperatures across the region.' He highlighted that western regions will first feel this change, with temperatures expected to descend by 5-7°C, eventually affecting the entire nation.
Daily highs are predicted to stabilize around 25-26°C, while nighttime temperatures could fall to as low as 12°C.
Authorities have already issued alerts in response to recent rains in the eastern and northern sectors, signaling potential visibility issues due to fog.
As the weekend approaches, further rainfall is anticipated, particularly affecting eastern areas such as Al Ain and northern locales like Ras Al Khaimah.
With winter officially commencing on December 22, the UAE is poised to embrace this brisk season, grounded in a tradition marked by distinct phases, 'Arba in Al Merei' and 'Arba in Al Aqrabi.' Dr. Habib underlined that the winter dynamics are influenced by various atmospheric factors, with historical parallels noted in previous dry winters.
As such, this period presents both a return to past weather patterns and an opportunity for residents to revel in the cool, picturesque landscapes of the Emirates.
For those eager to seize the season, the forthcoming weeks promise the invigorating charm of cooler climes and diverse weather phenomena, underscoring Dubai's unique appeal as a cosmopolitan hub that offers its people an opportunity to explore, adapt, and thrive amid nature's subtle transformations.
