Emirates Health Secures International Accreditation as the Largest Rehabilitation Network in the Middle East
The Emirates Health Services establishes a significant milestone in international accreditation with the approval of 16 facilities by CARF.
Emirates Health Services has achieved a notable milestone in international accreditation, becoming the largest entity in the Middle East and North Africa in terms of the number of accredited rehabilitation facilities simultaneously by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
The integrated network includes 16 health facilities under the Emirates Health Services umbrella.
This unprecedented achievement adds to the institution's portfolio of international accreditations and reflects the growing international confidence in the quality of the UAE’s healthcare system and its leadership in providing specialized healthcare services according to the highest global standards and practices.
Dr. Youssef Mohammed Al Serkal, Director General of Emirates Health Services, expressed pride in this achievement, viewing it as a global endorsement of the organization’s leadership in developing specialized rehabilitation services.
He emphasized that it serves as evidence of the progress made in establishing an innovative healthcare model in line with the vision and directives of the UAE’s leadership.
Furthermore, Dr. Abdullah Al Naqbi, Acting Executive Director of Supported Health Services, highlighted that this accreditation reflects the commitment of the facilities under the institution to providing integrated rehabilitation services that meet the highest global standards.
He pointed out that obtaining CARF accreditation for three years results from a carefully planned development strategy aimed at providing an exceptional healthcare experience that ensures patient safety and involving patients and their families in treatment planning and performance evaluation based on scientific indicators, while implementing best international practices in quality and adopting the latest medical technologies.
Latifa Rashid, Director of Health Support Services at the institution, praised the significant efforts made by the teams in rehabilitation facilities, noting the teamwork and integrated performance that led to this qualitative accreditation.
She affirmed that this achievement is a direct result of the culture of excellence that the institution has succeeded in instilling, alongside its ongoing commitment to providing exceptional care and high-quality services to rehabilitation patients, in accordance with the best global standards.
The CARF accreditation is a prestigious international standard in the field of rehabilitation.
The institution’s comprehensive accreditation reflects its commitment to enhancing quality of life through providing sustainable treatment services characterized by efficiency and reliability, within a healthcare system based on innovation and integrated care, in alignment with national health goals and strategies.
The accreditation encompasses all eligible hospitals within the institution according to CARF standards, in addition to the Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Center in Ras Al Khaimah, following a thorough evaluation of its physical therapy departments conducted by a specialized team of CARF experts.
This evaluation included a review of policies, assessment of rehabilitation programs, extensive interviews with technical and administrative staff, discussions with patients and their families, field visits, and analysis of statistical indicators and performance outcomes.
