Global Events and Initiatives Mark Eid Al Fitr Celebrations in the UAE
Fireworks at Global Village and the release of inmates highlight the diverse observances of Eid Al Fitr in the region.
Global Village, a prominent destination in Dubai, has announced extended tourist hours and nightly fireworks displays to celebrate Eid Al Fitr from March 28 to April 6, 2025. The multicultural venue will operate from 4 PM to 1 AM during the Eid period, featuring a range of entertainment options, including cultural shows and live performances.
A highlight of the event will be a concert by renowned artist Assala Nasri on April 6, 2025. Additionally, the amusement park will host nine nights of fireworks, with displays set for 10 PM during Ramadan and returning to 9 PM for the Eid celebrations.
In a separate initiative, the Dubai Rental Disputes Center, in collaboration with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian & Charity Est., has released 86 inmates involved in rental disputes.
This humanitarian effort, reflecting the UAE's commitment to social solidarity, is aimed at alleviating the burdens of families affected by economic hardships.
The total financial claims settled amounted to over Dh6.8 million.
This initiative has been acknowledged by officials, who emphasize the importance of balancing judicial standards with humanitarian considerations.
In preparation for Eid Al Fitr, the UAE Fatwa Council has urged residents to look for the Shawwal crescent on the evening of March 29, 2025, which marks the conclusion of Ramadan.
Observers are encouraged to report any sightings to local moon-sighting committees, which will determine the official Eid start date.
Similarly, Saudi Arabia's Supreme Court has made a call for Muslim communities to witness the crescent sighting on the same evening.
In both the UAE and Saudi Arabia, the outcomes of the moon sighting will dictate whether Eid will commence on March 30 or extend the Ramadan observances by another day.
Abu Dhabi Police, alongside the management of the BAPS Hindu Mandir, have announced pre-registration guidelines in anticipation of large crowds during the Eid Al Fitr holidays.
Following the experiences of the previous year where visitor numbers exceeded 60,000, the temple will require all visitors to register in advance to facilitate better crowd management.
The closing time for the Mandir will be set at 8 PM, with no entry allowed for walk-in visitors without prior registration.
Enhanced parking and shaded areas have been arranged to ensure visitor comfort.
Collectively, these events and initiatives underscore a period of celebration and community support in the UAE during Eid Al Fitr, reflecting the region's cultural diversity and humanitarian values.
