Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and Donald Trump Discuss Strategic Relations

The leaders emphasized collaborative efforts and regional developments during a state visit in Abu Dhabi.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Donald Trump, former President of the United States, engaged in discussions today regarding the strategic relations between the two nations and efforts to enhance collaboration across various sectors.

The meeting took place at Al Watan Palace in Abu Dhabi as part of Trump's state visit to the UAE.

During the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed welcomed Trump, highlighting the significance of the visit in advancing strategic partnerships.

The UAE President praised the positive approaches expressed by Trump towards strengthening UAE-US relations since his presidency, emphasizing a shared vision for progress and prosperity.

The two leaders reviewed opportunities for cooperation, particularly in investment, advanced technology, artificial intelligence, and industrial sectors, aimed at achieving a more prosperous future for both countries.

They also discussed several regional and international issues of mutual concern, focusing on developments in the Middle East, especially efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and to contain escalating tensions in the region that threaten security and stability.

Sheikh Mohamed underscored the importance of continuing these efforts towards a political path for a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace based on the two-state solution, which would ensure security and stability for all peoples in the region.

Sheikh Mohamed Al Nahyan reiterated that the UAE and the United States share a strong friendship and a strategic alliance built on a foundation of mutual trust, respect, and shared interests.

This partnership is backed by a long history of cooperation across various fields, including politics, economics, and culture.

He emphasized the UAE's commitment to further enhancing its collaboration with the US, reflecting their common visions for working toward peace, stability, and prosperity in the Middle East and globally.

This collaboration aims to address common global challenges through effective international multilateral engagement.

Both leaders expressed their desire to continue strengthening their strategic cooperation, with leadership in both countries prioritizing the development of bilateral relations to serve their mutual interests.

Sheikh Mohamed pointed out that the UAE has been a reliable partner of the US for several decades, emphasizing the UAE’s commitment to deepening this friendship for the benefit of both nations and their peoples, along with ongoing collaboration for peace and stability in the region and the world.

The leaders recognized the robust partnership between the UAE and the US for the future, particularly with support for initiatives in the new economy, advanced technology, and artificial intelligence.

Trump commended Sheikh Mohamed's leadership, stating that the relations between the UAE and the US have reached unprecedented levels and continue to evolve positively.

During the visit, the two leaders inaugurated a '1 Gigawatt Artificial Intelligence Data Center,' part of a joint initiative between the UAE and the US in the field of artificial intelligence.

Sheikh Mohamed hosted a dinner in honor of Trump and the accompanying delegation.

Trump also expressed his pleasure at visiting the UAE and meeting with Sheikh Mohamed, noting in the guestbook that the UAE-US relations are a steadfast strategic partnership, and both countries continue to work together to enhance them for mutual development, wishing further progress and prosperity for the UAE and its people.

Attending the discussions were several dignitaries, including Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister; Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; and other senior officials from both nations.
