President Trump suggests a possible deal on Iran's nuclear program during a visit to Qatar.
During a visit to Qatar on Thursday, U.S. President
Donald Trump indicated that a potential agreement regarding Iran's nuclear program may be imminent.
Speaking to a crowd of American troops at Al Udeid Air Base, Trump expressed optimism about reaching a deal without resorting to military action, stating, "I believe we are perhaps close to making a deal with Iran without having to do that."
On the same day, Trump toured Al Udeid Air Base, which is recognized as the largest U.S. military installation in the Middle East.
A gathering of American service members welcomed him, with a prominent sign displaying the phrase "Peace Through Strength."
While addressing the troops, Trump emphasized his administration's commitment to resolving conflicts rather than escalating them, asserting, "My priority is to end conflicts, not to ignite them." He also reinforced his readiness to exercise military force if necessary, claiming, "I will never hesitate to use American power if needed to defend the United States or our partners."
This statement reflects the ongoing complexities of U.S.-Iran relations, characterized by a history of tensions and sanctions related to Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
The remarks come at a time when diplomatic efforts are being closely monitored both domestically and internationally.
