The United Arab Emirates has created a new Federal Authority for Artificial Intelligence and Data under an announcement by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, consolidating key government digital bodies into a single national framework. The new authority, led by Minister of State Omar Sultan Al Olama, will absorb the AI Office, the Digital Government Sector and the UAE Data Office to streamline data governance and accelerate the adoption of agentic AI across federal institutions.
