Ministry of Health and Prevention adopts new regulations to facilitate access to medical leave and caregiver leave.
The Ministry of Health and Prevention in the United Arab Emirates has announced significant enhancements to the sick leave and caregiver leave approval process for government employees.
The new regulations apply to medical leave exceeding five working days, irrespective of whether the medical certificates are issued by licensed healthcare facilities within the country or abroad.
Key improvements to the service include the elimination of all mandatory fields when applying, the removal of required documentation, a reduction in the processing time from 14 working days to five, and a simplification of the application process from three steps to just one.
The ministry encourages individuals wishing to utilize this service to apply through the official website WWW.MOHAP.GOV.AE or via the MOHAP smart application.
The initiative reflects the ministry's priority of enhancing customer satisfaction in line with the government's broader objectives of delivering more efficient and accessible public services.
