UAE Ministry of Education Extends Enrollment Period for Public Schools

Registration for the academic year 2025-2026 has been extended until March 14, 2024, to accommodate increased demand from parents.
The Ministry of Education in the United Arab Emirates has announced an extension of the enrollment period for students in government schools for the academic year 2025-2026. This decision comes in response to a rising demand from parents.

Enrollment will now be open for an additional week, concluding on March 14, 2024, to allow as many students as possible to join public educational institutions across various emirates.

According to the ministry, the registration includes students from kindergarten through to grade 12, encompassing five categories: first-time enrollers, students transferring from private schools to public schools, those shifting from applied technology institutes to public schools, students moving from schools outside the UAE wishing to continue their education within the emirates, and those transferring from one government school to another within the country.

The extension also allows for the registration of new children in public kindergartens for the same deadline, providing an additional opportunity for parents to complete the enrollment process for their children.

Eligible children for kindergarten registration are those born between September 2020 and August 2021 for the first kindergarten class, and those born between September 2019 and August 2020 for the second kindergarten class.

Registration will be exclusively conducted online through the ministry’s official website, eliminating any manual registration process at kindergartens.

The ministry has specified that the target group for registration is limited to UAE nationals and the children of UAE nationals.

Registration must be performed using the father’s ID followed by the child’s ID, along with the requirement to upload proof of residence in PDF format.

A child interview will be conducted within three working days after the completion of the registration process, noting that enrollment is only available to children who have not previously attended government schools.

The Ministry of Education has urged parents to monitor the official channels for the latest information regarding the registration process, emphasizing its commitment to facilitating procedures and providing necessary support to ensure that all eligible students can join the public education system.

This initiative aligns with the ministry’s objective to offer flexible educational opportunities accessible to all students, thereby enhancing the quality of education and ensuring equitable access to public schools.

The ministry has highlighted the importance of parents adhering to the specified timelines to guarantee their children’s enrollment in appropriate educational institutions.
