Strategic Partnership with Microsoft to Foster Technological Innovation
In a landmark initiative, UAE University has partnered with global tech giant Microsoft to launch a strategic program aimed at equipping students with essential artificial intelligence (AI) skills.
The inauguration event, attended by His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, the Cultural Adviser to His Highness the President of the UAE and the university's Chancellor, along with Naim Yazbek, General Manager of Microsoft UAE, and Hamad Matar, Director of Education Sector at Microsoft UAE, marked a significant step in advancing the nation's educational vision.
His Excellency Nusseibeh emphasized the initiative as a pivotal move in alignment with the broader vision of both the university and the UAE to foster innovation and leadership within higher education.
"AI offers a tremendous opportunity to transform global economies," he stated, highlighting that AI's contribution to the UAE's GDP is projected to reach 14% by 2030.
He further remarked, "Our partnership with Microsoft strengthens the university's efforts to develop cutting-edge educational programs that promote an AI culture within the academic community, ultimately preparing a new generation of national talent ready to navigate the fast-paced technological advancements.
This endeavor firmly establishes the UAE's standing as a global innovation and technology hub."
Echoing these sentiments, Naim Yazbek noted, "Through this initiative, we aim to enhance the skills of students, faculty, and researchers, aligning with the ever-evolving demands and future requirements of the job market."
