The Sudanese pound has depreciated sharply following the United Arab Emirates’ decision to suspend flights linked to Sudanese gold exports.

The ban has disrupted one of Sudan’s key sources of foreign currency and further strained the country’s fragile economy.

Economists warn the situation could worsen inflation and destabilize local markets unless trade routes are quickly restored or alternative export channels are established.
