Abu Dhabi Advances AI Infrastructure Through Strategic Partnership

UAE's G42 and Cisco Systems to Enhance Digital Innovation and AI Development
In a significant development in the field of artificial intelligence, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, attended a meeting where G42, a leading technology holding group based in the UAE, and Cisco Systems, a global leader in IT and networking technology, announced an expansion of their strategic partnership.

This collaboration aims to accelerate innovation and enhance the development of digital infrastructure in AI across both public and private sectors.

Sheikh Khaled emphasized that investment in artificial intelligence has become a fundamental pillar in navigating the future amid rapid digital transformation.

He noted the importance of transforming challenges into opportunities, which is expected to enhance the efficiency of key priority economic sectors for the nation.

The meeting was attended by prominent figures including Ahmed Tamim Al-Kitab, Head of the Government Empowerment Office; Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Head of the Crown Prince's Office; Bing Xiao, CEO of G42; and Chuck Robbins, Chairman and CEO of Cisco.

The agreement focuses on exploring collaborative opportunities in strategic areas, including the launch of a joint initiative to bring products to market.

This initiative will leverage Cisco’s comprehensive and secure AI portfolio, combined with G42's established regional presence and expertise in AI infrastructure.

Both companies are committed to promoting responsible AI technology both within the UAE and internationally.

Furthermore, Cisco and G42 will work on developing an integrated reference architecture that combines Cisco’s advanced solutions in networking, security, and infrastructure, specifically designed to support high-performance computing.

This cooperation aims to enable customers to build and secure AI-ready data centers, thereby enhancing the efficiency of AI systems and applications.

As G42 continues to establish itself as a key partner in shaping the global AI landscape, its strategic partnerships with major American technology firms play a pivotal role in advancing this sector.

The UAE, recognized as the first nation to appoint a Minister of Artificial Intelligence and establish the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, is reaffirming its commitment to leading the global AI sector.

The agreement aligns with G42’s ambitions for international expansion and growth.
