Dubai Ambulance Services Respond to Over 265,000 Calls in 2024

Emergency response teams demonstrate improved efficiency with a significant recovery rate for cardiac arrest cases.
In 2024, the Dubai Ambulance Services responded to a total of 265,601 emergency calls, encompassing a range of cases from minor to critical, with an average response time of 6.59 minutes.

This figure shows an improvement over the previous year's average response time of 7.5 minutes.

According to Mishal Abdul Kareem Julfar, Executive Director of the Dubai Ambulance Foundation, among the 1,207 cardiac arrest incidents reported, the medical teams successfully restored pulses and revived 353 individuals.

These outcomes are attributed to effective emergency response efforts and advanced medical interventions.

Julfar highlighted the notable progress made in enhancing the efficiency of the ambulance services, underlining the organization's commitment to providing high-quality healthcare.

This is achieved through effective coordination with hospitals and a continuous focus on training and developing paramedic teams, which ultimately contributes to the health security of Dubai's residents and visitors.

The ambulance team currently operates across 139 emergency points throughout the emirate, staffed by advanced ambulances equipped with the latest medical equipment to ensure patient comfort and expedient service delivery.

The service aims to respond rapidly to diverse medical situations and provide high-level care to the community.

Plans are underway to increase the operational capacity of the ambulance fleet and improve technological systems to enhance emergency response capabilities.

These efforts align with the foundation's goal of establishing a proactive healthcare system that prioritizes community well-being and delivers comprehensive emergency services effectively.

Julfar stated that the organization continues to solidify its humanitarian role through its strategy of providing innovative and sustainable emergency services across the emirate.

The institution's achievements in the emergency medical sector stem from diligent oversight and strong support from leadership, in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to make Dubai a global model for advanced healthcare services, including emergency medicine.

This initiative aims to enhance the well-being, happiness, and safety of individuals, reflecting the organization's commitment to aligning its services with Dubai's future aspirations and fulfilling the goals outlined in the Dubai Community Agenda 2033.

Regarding community awareness and the role of Dubai Ambulance Services, Julfar remarked on the organization’s ongoing efforts to elevate emergency medical knowledge among the population through various educational and training programs tailored for all age groups.

This initiative reflects the foundation's commitment to fostering a healthy lifestyle and achieving the objectives of the 'Year of Community' by emphasizing the significance of maintaining health and enhancing awareness regarding the role individuals play in saving lives.

In terms of public outreach results, the foundation noted that 46,638 individuals benefited from first aid awareness programs in 2024. These educational initiatives targeted diverse community segments, including individuals with disabilities, children, seniors, and labor sectors.

Additionally, in 2024, 1,042 participants engaged in training courses, and during the first quarter of 2025, 2,561 individuals benefitted from awareness programs, alongside 99 learners participating in training courses.
