Dubai Education Authority Suspends School Evaluations for Private Institutions in 2025-2026
The decision excludes new schools in their third operational year, reflecting an ongoing commitment to educational quality enhancement.
The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in Dubai has announced the suspension of school evaluation and oversight processes for private schools during the academic year 2025-2026. This initiative is part of the authority's ongoing efforts to enhance and support the quality of education across the emirate.
The decision applies to all private schools, except for newly established institutions that have completed their third operational year, which will undergo full school oversight for the first time.
The KHDA will continue to monitor school performance through targeted school visits, focusing on specific aspects related to educational quality and continuous development.
The timing and priorities for these visits will be guided by Strategic Education Framework 33 and feedback received from the school community.
The authority reaffirmed the necessity for schools to conduct external benchmark assessments regularly to ensure academic progress for students, along with providing periodic updates through self-evaluation models.
Fatima Ibrahim Balraheef, the Executive Director of the Educational Quality Assurance and Compliance at KHDA, stated that the suspension of school oversight for the upcoming academic year presents an opportunity to reflect on and enhance collaboration regarding optimal methods to support educational quality.
She emphasized that ongoing visits and continuous interaction with schools are key to ensuring that every child in Dubai receives a high-quality education aligning with the aspirations of the emirate's leadership and the objectives of Strategic Education Framework 33.
