Dubai Expands Golden Visa Program to Include Yacht Owners
General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs announces long-term residency benefits for yacht owners ahead of the Dubai International Boat Show 2025.
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai has announced that yacht owners can now apply for the Golden Visa program, which offers long-term residency in the emirate.
This initiative aims to attract high-net-worth individuals and promote Dubai as a significant hub for maritime activities.
Further details regarding the Golden Visa for yacht owners are expected to be revealed at the Dubai International Boat Show 2025, scheduled to take place from February 19 to February 23. Celebrating its 31st edition, the annual event has evolved into one of the most acclaimed boat shows in the Middle East, showcasing an array of superyachts and facilitating networking opportunities among industry professionals.
Attendees of the Dubai International Boat Show will have the opportunity to view premier superyacht designs and partake in exclusive product launches, as well as engage directly with leading experts within the maritime sector, who are instrumental in driving innovation and development in the industry.
In December 2022, the UAE’s capital, Abu Dhabi, initiated a similar Golden Visa program targeting superyacht owners.
This program is designed to attract affluent individuals by offering a range of exclusive benefits, which include premium lifestyle experiences, business opportunities, and the ability to secure long-term residency for families.
The Golden Visa program in the UAE is distinguished from other residency schemes due to its provision of multiple benefits, such as permitting holders to remain outside the country for an extended duration exceeding six months, along with a ten-year renewal period.
This makes it particularly attractive for individuals seeking stability in residency options while engaging in high-value investments in the region.
