Historic Goalless Draw Between Al Ahli Youth and Al Ain in Pro League Clash

Historic Goalless Draw Between Al Ahli Youth and Al Ain in Pro League Clash

The first-ever scoreless draw in the history of the UAE Pro League leaves Al Ahli Youth at the top of the standings, while Al Ain moves to fifth.
In a historic encounter, the 20th round of the ADNOC Pro League concluded with a scoreless draw between Al Ahli Youth and visiting Al Ain at Rashid Stadium.

This result marks the first goalless draw between the two teams in the league's history.

As a consequence of this match, Al Ahli Youth retains the top position in the league table with 49 points, whereas Al Ain climbs to fifth place with a total of 30 points.

The match commenced with both teams exhibiting a cautious approach.

However, Al Ain gradually became more offensive, with Blasios missing an early opportunity in the 7th minute.

Laba Kodjo then came close in the 17th minute, facing Al Ahli Youth's goalkeeper Hamad Al Makbali, but his shot went wide of the left post.

In the 23rd minute, a potential penalty for Al Ain was reviewed by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), prompting the on-field referee Ahmed Salem Khalfan to continue play without awarding the penalty.

Further defensive lapses from Al Ahli occurred in the 28th minute when the ball reached Laba Kodjo, who surged into the penalty area but fell without contact from Al Ahli's defenders, missing another critical chance for his team.

Al Ain's inability to convert opportunities persisted, keeping the scoreline at zero as the first half concluded.

The second half saw Al Ahli's Hamad Al Makbali excel, making a difficult save on a shot from Yahya Nader, converting it into a corner kick in the 47th minute.

Al Ain's Eric missed another chance in the 53rd minute after a rebound shot went off target.

Meanwhile, the danger increased for Al Ahli when Khalid Essa, Al Ain's goalkeeper, thwarted a close-range header from Sardor Azmoun in the 61st minute.

Al Makbali demonstrated his skills again by deflecting another attempt from Al Ain's Kaku into a corner in the 64th minute.

Both teams alternated control and created several dangerous scoring opportunities, yet failed to break the deadlock.

The match ended with both defenses holding firm, resulting in the first-ever goalless outcome in the history of their encounters.
