Jordan's State Security Court Sentences Main Perpetrator to Death in Al-Husseiniya Incident
Court rulings include various prison sentences for additional co-defendants linked to the 2021 killings of law enforcement personnel.
On Monday, Jordan's State Security Court issued a death sentence for the main defendant in the Al-Husseiniya incident, where Dr. Abdul Razak Al-Dalabih, along with two other members of the Public Security Directorate, were killed two years ago.
The court's decision follows the conclusion of a trial related to the events surrounding these killings, which were deemed to have terrorist implications.
In addition to the death penalty, the court imposed sentences of 20 years in prison on three other defendants.
Two additional co-defendants received sentences of ten years each, while another was sentenced to nine years, and the final defendant was given a three-year sentence for failing to report the criminal plans.
The court also announced the acquittal of two individuals regarding the charges brought against them.
The defendants were found guilty on multiple counts related to terrorism, including committing terrorist acts resulting in death, illegal possession of firearms, and promoting a terrorist organization, specifically ISIS.
The rulings reflect Jordan’s ongoing efforts to address security challenges and combat extremism within its borders.
