Sheikh Khaled Approves Dh4.62 Billion Housing Package for Abu Dhabi Citizens
Over 3,000 Emiratis to Benefit from Housing Support Ahead of Eid Al Adha
Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, has approved a substantial housing support package totaling Dh4.62 billion for Emirati citizens in the capital.
This announcement was made on the eve of the Eid Al Adha celebrations and marks the second housing support initiative implemented in 2023. The financial assistance will benefit 3,052 individuals, primarily through housing loans valued at Dh4.4 billion to be disbursed to 2,862 recipients.
Additionally, exemptions from housing loan repayments amounting to Dh212 million have been sanctioned for 190 individuals, which include low-income retirees and beneficiaries of deceased citizens.
Earlier in the year, Sheikh Khaled had approved a previous housing benefits package worth Dh6.75 billion for Emiratis, which was announced prior to Eid Al Fitr.
Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, stated that the housing benefits package underscores the leadership's dedication to empowering citizens by providing quality housing that supports family stability and enhances quality of life.
The initiative aligns with the directives of President Sheikh Mohamed, who serves as Ruler of Abu Dhabi.
This latest housing aid scheme also responds to the recent approval of a supplementary community support subsidy of Dh250,000 for current beneficiaries of housing loans, which includes provisions for a reduction of up to 50 percent in monthly loan repayments as well as the introduction of various additional services and facilities.
