Somali Fighter Mohydeen Abubakar Clinches Title at International Warriors of the Emirates
Abubakar secures victory against Brazilian Victor Nunes in Abu Dhabi's championship.
Mohydeen Abubakar from Somalia has been crowned champion of the International Warriors of the Emirates after defeating Brazilian fighter Victor Nunes in a closely contested bout held yesterday at Space 42, located on the waterfront in Abu Dhabi.
Abubakar won the flyweight title following a fierce five-round match, which culminated in a decision by the judges.
The event featured a total of 12 intense matches, showcasing the talents of 24 fighters from 17 countries across various continents.
Notable attendees included Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa bin Shakboot Al Nahyan, President of the Asian Chess Federation and Chairman of the Chess and Mind Sports Club, along with Abdul Moneim Al Hashimi, President of the UAE and Asian Jiu-Jitsu Federations and First Vice President of the International Federation, and Chairman of Palms Sports, the event organizer.
The championship was concluded with a presentation of the title by Fouad Darwish, CEO of Palms Sports and Head of the Organizing Committee.
In other matches, Canadian Tanner Boser achieved a technical knockout against Brazilian Vinicius Mourier in the heavyweight category.
Meanwhile, Canadian Vladislav Rodiev maintained his undefeated professional record after overcoming Polish fighter Piotr Nigilenski in the 74 kg weight class.
Armenian Marton Mazloomian delivered a commendable performance against Brazilian Italo Gomez, securing a victory.
Following his win, Abubakar expressed his happiness in securing the championship belt at the Warriors of the Emirates, expressing his intention to continue excelling and competing for the featherweight title in future editions.
