The United Arab Emirates has announced the successful completion of a new prisoner exchange between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, resulting in the release of 205 Ukrainian prisoners and 205 Russian prisoners.

This operation marks a significant development in ongoing efforts to mediate between the two nations amidst the ongoing conflict.

With this latest exchange, the total number of prisoners swapped between the two countries through Emirati mediation now stands at 4,181.

In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed gratitude to both countries for their cooperation, highlighting their appreciation for the Emirates' commitment to supporting diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the crisis between Russia and Ukraine.

This recent mediation effort is the 15th initiated by the UAE since the escalation of hostilities between Russia and Ukraine.
