UAE and Egypt: Leaders Discuss Regional Developments and Cooperation

In a significant diplomatic encounter, the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to deliberate on the evolving dynamics in the Middle East, with a particular focus on reinforcing bilateral ties across various sectors.
The discussions centered on enhancing economic, developmental, and investment collaborations that potentially yield mutual benefits and align with the aspirations of their citizens for development and prosperity.
During the talks, President El-Sisi, on an official visit to the UAE, and Sheikh Mohammed exchanged insights on critical regional and international issues.
Key among these was the situation in the Middle East, where both leaders expressed their support for the recently declared ceasefire in Gaza.
They emphasized the crucial need for adequate humanitarian aid to the region and reaffirmed their commitment to pursuing efforts towards implementing the two-state solution as a pathway to achieving comprehensive and enduring peace and stability.
Sheikh Mohammed commended Egypt's instrumental role in supporting the Palestinian people and commended its efforts in brokering the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
Additionally, in a show of solidarity for Lebanon, both leaders welcomed the election of Joseph Aoun as the new President, hoping that this development would contribute to Lebanon's stability.
Discussions also touched on the situation in Syria, where both leaders reiterated their dedication to the unity, stability, and sovereignty of Syrian territory.
They stressed the necessity for an inclusive political process accommodating all segments of the Syrian populace.
Concluding their meeting, Sheikh Mohammed and President El-Sisi underscored their shared commitment to pursuing measures that bolster peace and stability in the region in the interest of their peoples.
President El-Sisi's arrival in Abu Dhabi was marked by a ceremonial welcome at the Presidential Airport, attended by senior UAE officials, including Vice Chair of the Special Affairs Bureau Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Presidential Advisor Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, and Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, head of the President's Strategic Affairs Office and Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority of Abu Dhabi.
