UAE President Hosts Kurdistan Region's Leader for Bilateral Discussions

Abu Dhabi: On April 7, 2025, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates received Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, during an official visit to the UAE.
The meeting took place at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi and was marked by discussions aimed at strengthening the bilateral relationship between the UAE and Iraq, particularly concerning the Kurdistan Region.
The two leaders explored collaborative efforts intended to advance mutual interests and contribute to the aspirations of their respective populations for sustainable growth and prosperity.
In addition to reviewing current relations, they exchanged insights on various topics of common interest, underscoring the commitment to foster deeper connections.
Nechirvan Barzani's visit was welcomed in Abu Dhabi, where he was greeted at Al Bateen Airport by Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, who serves as an Advisor to the UAE President, accompanied by various senior officials.
This meeting highlights ongoing diplomatic engagement in the region and the emphasis on enhancing cooperation between the UAE and Iraqi governance structures, particularly in the context of the economically pivotal Kurdistan Region.
