Sudanese Airstrike Kills At Least 40 Colombian Mercenaries at Nyala Airport
Strike targeted a plane allegedly carrying mercenaries and weapons for RSF
Sudan’s military launched an airstrike on Nyala airport in Darfur, destroying an aircraft believed to have been transporting Colombian mercenaries and arms destined for a paramilitary group.
The attack killed at least 40 individuals and obliterated the aircraft, prompting the UAE to bar Sudanese planes from its airspace amid escalating corroborations by UN monitors.
Sudanian state media labelled the strike a warning against external interference, while officials cited misuse of civilian facilities by armed actors as justification.
