DEWA Completes Major Expansion of 132 kV Grid in Dubai
New substations support growing urban and housing demand
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has commissioned 13 new 132 kV transmission substations during 2024, with a combined conversion capacity of nearly 1,950 MVA at an investment of AED 2.1 billion.
The expansion includes more than 120 km of underground cables and aims to reinforce the emirate’s power supply infrastructure amid rapid expansion of residential and mixed‑use districts.
