The United Arab Emirates has established a National Anti-Narcotics Authority through a federal decree-law issued by President Sheikh Mohamed.

The move underscores the country's intensified efforts to combat drug trafficking and substance abuse.

Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan has been appointed chairman of the new authority, which will coordinate national strategies and enforcement mechanisms.
