Abu Dhabi Enforces Food Safety Regulations with Closure of Multiple Establishments
Five restaurants and a supermarket shut down for repeated violations of food safety laws.
The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has implemented the administrative closure of five restaurants and a supermarket due to ongoing violations of food safety regulations that pose a risk to public health.
The closures affect various establishments across the city, including areas such as Khalidiya, Mussafah, and Mohammed Bin Zayed City.
The affected restaurants include Karak Future Cafeteria, Lahore Garden Grill Restaurant & Cafeteria, Pak Ravi Restaurant, Saltie Desi Darbar, and Rukn Al Maqam Restaurant, along with Rich & Fresh Supermarket located in Mohammed Bin Zayed City.
These establishments were found to be in violation of Law No. (2) of 2008, which governs food safety in Abu Dhabi.
Inspectors indicated that these businesses repeatedly committed serious infractions that endangered consumer safety.
Closure notices were issued following the failure of these businesses to address previous violations adequately.
Despite prior warnings, inspectors noted continuing serious breaches of food safety standards, with some establishments disregarding mandatory corrective actions entirely.
ADAFSA stated that the administrative closures will persist until the deficiencies are corrected, ensuring that the establishments achieve full compliance with food safety requirements.
The authority clarified that its actions aim to prevent health risks rather than punish the businesses involved, emphasizing the importance of public health for all community members.
Routine inspections of all food establishments in Abu Dhabi are conducted by ADAFSA as part of its commitment to uphold safe and compliant practices in food handling and preparation.
