Al Ahly Clinches 45th Egyptian Premier League Title
Al Ahly secures its 45th league title after a decisive 6-0 victory over Farco, with standout performance by Wessam Abu Ali.
Al Ahly has secured the Egyptian Premier League title for the 45th time in its history and for the third consecutive season, achieving this feat with a resounding 6-0 victory against Farco in the final match of the season.
The match took place on Wednesday, showcasing a remarkable performance by striker Wessam Abu Ali, who scored four goals and provided one assist.
Abu Ali opened the scoring in the 10th minute, capitalizing on a low cross from Ahmed Nabil (Kouka).
He doubled the lead in the 34th minute with a shot from inside the penalty area, utilizing a low cross from Ashraf Ben Cherki following a strong run down the left flank of the field.
The third goal came in the 61st minute when Abu Ali scored from a direct free kick taken just outside the penalty area.
He completed his hat trick in the 66th minute, again taking advantage of a low cross, this time from substitute Ali Maaloul.
Hussein El Shahat added the fifth goal in the 75th minute with a powerful shot from the right side, benefiting from an assist by Abu Ali.
In the added time, Imam Ashour capped off the scoring with a powerful shot, concluding a series of well-executed passes.
With this victory, Al Ahly ended the season with 58 points, maintaining its position at the top of the league table, ahead of Pyramids FC, which secured a 5-1 win against Ceramica Cleopatra in its final match.
Reports indicate that the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) rejected an urgent request from Pyramids FC to halt the announcement of the league champion for this season.
The court determined that the case must proceed through normal legal procedures until a final decision is made regarding the disputed points.
The dispute centers around a match between Al Ahly and Zamalek, which was scheduled for March 11 but was not held due to Al Ahly's absence.
Consequently, the league association sanctioned Al Ahly by awarding Zamalek a 3-0 victory and deducting three points from Al Ahly's total.
However, the league association later rescinded the points deduction in a subsequent statement.
