Al-Azhar Calls for Support of Egyptian and Arab Position on Gaza Reconstruction
Al-Azhar Al-Sharif emphasizes the need for international pressure to uphold Palestinian rights amid reconstruction efforts in Gaza.
Al-Azhar Al-Sharif has issued a call for enhanced support of the Egyptian and Arab stance regarding the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, emphasizing that this support must include the preservation of the Palestinian people in their homeland.
The institution urged the international community to exert maximum pressure to ensure the implementation of ceasefire agreements in Gaza.
In a statement, Al-Azhar underscored the importance of global leaders exercising wisdom in their public statements that affect nations.
The institution asserted that no entity has the right to force the Palestinian people to accept impractical proposals, and it called for universal respect for the Palestinians’ right to live on their land and establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
Al-Azhar has urged Arab and Muslim leaders, as well as the global community, to reject displacement schemes aimed at erasing the Palestinian cause and coercing Palestinians to abandon their homeland.
The statement highlighted the deep historical connection of the Palestinian people to their land, emphasizing that their rights should be upheld without disregard for the sanctity of their homeland.
Furthermore, Al-Azhar warned that the failure of the international community to advocate for the oppressed could lead to widespread instability worldwide, transforming global dynamics into a scenario where the powerful infringe upon the rights of the weak and disenfranchised.
The institution called on religious organizations around the world to amplify the voice of faith in defense of the marginalized in Palestine, while cautioning against the deliberate silencing of this global moral perspective.
