Al Wahda Secures Victory Against Al Sharjah, Officially Crowning Shabab Al Ahli the ADNOC Pro League Title
In a pivotal match, Al Wahda's win confirms Shabab Al Ahli's championship title for the 2025/2024 season with three games to spare.
In a decisive Round 23 match of the ADNOC Pro League, Al Wahda triumphed over Al Sharjah with a score of 3-0 at Al Nahyan Stadium.
This victory not only bolstered Al Wahda's standings but also officially awarded Shabab Al Ahli the league title, marking the club's ninth championship in its history due to a significant 11-point lead over the second-placed team.
The President of the UAE Football Association, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, extended his congratulations to Shabab Al Ahli's organization, recognizing the contributions of the club’s management, coaching staff, players, and fans.
He emphasized that this achievement enhances the club's accolades and inspires young talents to cultivate their skills in representing the club at both national and international levels.
Al Wahda's win allowed them to reclaim third place in the league with 41 points, reducing the gap to Al Sharjah, who are in second place, to four points.
This positioning opens up opportunities for a second-place finish as the season nears its conclusion.
In a concurrent match at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, Al Ain and Al Jazira ended in a 1-1 draw.
Al Jazira scored first with a goal from Nabil Fekir in the 46th minute, while Al Ain responded with an equalizer from Sofian Rahimi in the 60th minute.
Both teams remained unchanged in their respective positions, with Al Ain in fifth place (37 points) and Al Jazira in seventh (33 points).
Later today, the battlegrounds will continue with the fixture between Al Bataeh and Bani Yas at Khalid Bin Mohammed Stadium at 18:05, where both teams aim for crucial points to avoid relegation risks.
Al Bataeh currently occupies the 12th position with 21 points, while Bani Yas is in 11th place with 25 points.
Additionally, the match between Ajman and Al Orouba at Rashid Bin Saeed Stadium is set for 20:45 this evening.
Ajman will be seeking improvement in its standings, sitting 10th with 27 points, while Al Orouba has already confirmed relegation to the First Division after their results last week.
A victory for Ajman would potentially advance them to ninth place, as they look to break a losing streak that followed their last match against Al Sharjah.
