The first day of Eid al-Adha is confirmed for June 6, 2025, following the sighting of the moon.
The UAE Presidential Court has announced the official sighting of the Hajj moon, confirming that the first day of the month of Dhul-Hijjah, 1446 AH, will be observed on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. Consequently, the first day of Eid al-Adha will fall on Friday, June 6, 2025.
This announcement was made following the meeting of the Moon Sighting Committee for the month of Dhul-Hijjah, which operates under the Emirates' Fatwa Council.
The committee convened in Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Abu Dhabi, on the evening of May 27, 2025, to review the reports and results regarding the moon sighting from various locations across the country.
The sighting was deemed to be legally confirmed.
In the official statement, the Presidential Court extended heartfelt greetings and congratulations to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, on this significant occasion.
Additionally, congratulations were extended to the other members of the Supreme Council of the Union, the rulers of the Emirates, and the people of the UAE and the wider world.
