Dh100 Million Emirates Draw Jackpot Winner Shares Heartfelt Letter

Sriram Rajagopalan reflects on life-changing win and its impact on his family.
Sriram Rajagopalan, a retired engineer based in Chennai, has become the winner of the largest individual prize in the Emirates Draw history, amounting to Dh100 million.

The prize was awarded during the MEGA7 game on March 16, where Sriram randomly selected his winning numbers using a stylus and his eyes closed.

Shortly after receiving the life-altering news, he penned an emotional letter to Emirates Draw, expressing his joy and gratitude, particularly toward his 88-year-old mother.

Rajagopalan articulated the profound impact of the win on his family, stating, "Her face, once tired from life’s struggles, now glows with happiness." Acknowledging the years he spent working abroad, particularly in Saudi Arabia, to support his family, he reflected on the many sacrifices made and how this win signifies a transformative change in their lives.

He remarked that the prize means "no more sleepless nights filled with worry" and highlights his intention to use part of his winnings for charitable donations.

Emirates Draw, organized by Tycheros, has shifted its focus from the UAE to international markets following regulatory updates by the UAE’s Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority at the end of 2023. Similar stories of life transformations among previous winners contribute to the narrative of hope associated with the draws.

Pakistani expatriate Junaid Rana, who won Dh50 million in the Mahzooz draw in October 2021, shared his journey from a driver earning Dh6,000 monthly to reuniting his family in Dubai and pursuing entrepreneurial ventures back in Pakistan.

In another notable instance, Indian resident Aravind Appukuttan won Dh25 million in the Big Ticket draw in December 2023 using a free ticket, which he plans to share with 20 friends.

Expressing excitement, he acknowledged his intention to settle outstanding loans and secure savings for the future.

These winning stories resonate with participants, highlighting the potential for life-altering changes through the draws.
