DP World Foundation Pioneers Transformative Change in Angola's Education Sector

Empowering the Next Generation Through Strategic Educational Investments
In a visionary move to uplift the educational landscape of Luanda, Angola, DP World Foundation has embarked on a transformative initiative aimed at renewing schools, constructing a new library, and distributing essential school supplies.

The philanthropic endeavor, which cost $250,000, underscores DP World Charity’s commitment to creating safer and more supportive educational environments for local students and empowering the next generation with the tools needed for success.

Highlighting its direct impact on the educational sector in this African nation, the initiative orchestrated by the charitable arm of DP World emphasizes the priority placed on educational infrastructure and resources.

The DP World Foundation seeks to drive long-term community development and bolster the academic achievements of future leaders.

Latifa Al Qamzi, Director General of DP World Foundation, remarked, 'Investing in the education of children in Luanda and across Angola is not solely about their personal success but is also about laying the groundwork for a brighter, stronger future for the entire community.

This initiative reflects our commitment to empowering the next generation through education and fostering sustainable community growth.'

The project set out to renovate Boa Esperanca School ('School of Everlasting Hope') and distribute educational supplies by the end of November.

This effort, supported by DP World Luanda, forms part of the DP World Foundation’s global mission to enhance educational quality and promote sustainable community development.

Approximately 300 students benefitted directly, receiving essential school supplies while learning environments were upgraded with state-of-the-art facilities and enhanced safety standards.

The grand opening of the school was attended by His Excellency Salem Ali Khamis Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to Angola, and Ms. Lilica Dos Santos, Deputy Director of the Angolan Minister of Transport's Office, on behalf of the Minister, as well as Mr. Bascherio Francisco, Minister of State for Preschool and Primary Education representing the Angolan Minister of Education.

Al Qamzi further added, 'By fostering a positive and supportive educational environment, the project aims to uplift student morale, improve academic outcomes, and lay the foundation for a brighter future.

The project also highlights the vital role of education in driving social progress and encourages greater corporate participation in local development.'

Francisco Pinzon, CEO of DP World Luanda, elaborated, 'The academic space we have unveiled is much more than just a building dedicated to education – it is a sanctuary where dreams take root, knowledge empowers, and where children can envision a future filled with opportunities and goals.'

This initiative embodies DP World Foundation’s commitment to leveraging education as a catalyst for social transformation, reflecting its vision of investing in communities to shape a world where every child can access quality education and opportunities.

Al Qamzi concluded, 'We are honored to contribute to shaping a promising future for the next generation.'

Notably, DP World Foundation remains dedicated to enhancing social responsibility and providing support to those in need, irrespective of nationality, race, religion, or social status, ensuring that aid is directed to the most pressing humanitarian situations.

Its initiatives address various social challenges, including poverty, hunger, and education, through collaboration with local and international partners.
