Dubai Celebrates Eid al-Adha with Unprecedented Community Engagement

A successful two-day event unites thousands of workers in celebration across the emirate.
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai successfully concluded the 'Eid al-Adha - Let's Celebrate Eid Together' event, held on June 6 and 7, 2025. This initiative spanned all labor accommodations within the emirate, as part of the '2025 Year of Community' initiatives.

The event commenced with the Eid prayer, attended by over 9,000 members of the workforce, fostering a sense of community and shared values.

Festivities continued for two days, particularly in Al Quoz, featuring live performances from 6 PM to midnight, with thousands participating in artistic and cultural segments from diverse backgrounds.

On the digital front, significant interaction was recorded between 1 PM and 6 PM, with more than 42,000 users engaging from within the UAE and abroad.

The live broadcast received over 151,000 views, accompanied by 3,000 new participants and 1,000 live comments throughout the virtual event.

Overall attendance at the event reached 50,000 individuals.

The event concluded with the distribution of 400 prizes valued at over 500,000 dirhams, including 140 prizes awarded through a digital lottery.

Prizes consisted of cars, smartphones, gold bullion, travel tickets, and shopping vouchers, all delivered directly to the winners' accommodations, reflecting the commitment of Dubai's residency authority to create an impactful experience for participants.

Lieutenant General Obaid Mer Al-Suroor, Deputy Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai and Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Labor Affairs, emphasized that the event symbolizes not just a celebration but a deeply human moment of joy shared among thousands.

Colonel Omar Matar Khamees Matar Al-Muzaina, Assistant Director General for Labor Relations Sector, noted the spontaneous and widespread engagement as a key indicator of success.

He reiterated the efforts made by the residency authority to bring the Eid celebrations to the workers' living quarters, transforming the occasion into an unforgettable experience.
