Dubai Commercial Bank Donates AED 10 Million to Support Construction of Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Hospital

The donation will aid the establishment of Dubai's first comprehensive cancer treatment facility.
Dubai's Al Jalila Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Dubai Health Authority, has announced a generous donation of AED 10 million from Dubai Commercial Bank to support the construction of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Hospital.

This hospital will be the first specialized medical establishment for cancer treatment in the Emirate of Dubai.

The partnership agreement was signed at the Al Jalila Foundation's headquarters by Ahmed Abdul Karim Julfar, Chairman of Dubai Commercial Bank, and Dr. Amer Alzarooni, Executive Director of the foundation, in the presence of Dr. Amer Sharif, Executive Director of Dubai Health Authority, and Dr. Abdulla Al Khayat, Honorary Executive Director of Al Jalila Hospital.

During the meeting, the bank delegation was introduced to the foundation’s leading charitable initiatives.

Ahmed Julfar reaffirmed that this contribution reflects Dubai Commercial Bank's steadfast commitment to its humanitarian mission and social responsibility.

He stated that supporting a vital project like the Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Hospital aligns with the UAE’s approach to enhancing charitable work and instilling values of solidarity, particularly in the healthcare sector.

Dr. Amer Alzarooni expressed deep gratitude to Dubai Commercial Bank for this generous support, emphasizing that strategic partnerships among national institutions are fundamental to developing healthcare services and achieving the foundation's humanitarian mission.

He mentioned the anticipation surrounding the completion of this crucial project, which will provide specialized medical care to cancer patients in the country, adhering to the highest standards.

Upon its completion, the Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Hospital is expected to be a beacon of hope for patients.

The facility will span 59,000 square meters and comprise eight floors, equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment technologies.

It aims to attract a world-class medical workforce and will play a pivotal role in research and training to explore the latest methods for cancer treatment and the development of medical competencies.

The hospital’s design, inspired by patient feedback to ensure a supportive and comforting treatment environment, has received the Gold Award in the Future Healthcare Projects category from the World Architecture News.

The construction of the hospital is currently underway, supported by contributions received by Al Jalila Foundation, in alignment with its efforts to expand advanced healthcare services and in accordance with the goals of the Dubai Social Agenda 33, aimed at building a healthier and more sustainable future.
