The 'Dubai Loop' aims to create an underground transportation system connecting the city's densely populated areas.
Dubai has announced a collaboration with
Elon Musk's Boring Company to construct 'The Loop,' an underground transportation system intended to link the emirate's most densely populated areas.
The announcement was made during the World Government Summit 2025, where Musk participated virtually alongside UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, Omar Sultan Al Olama.
The project is designed to facilitate efficient movement across the city, enhancing connectivity in urban settings.
Al Olama characterized the initiative as transformational, stating, 'Today we announce the joint project of Dubai Loop, which is a loop project that is going to cover Dubai's most densely populated areas for people to go from point to point in a seamless manner.
We hope to change people's lives.'
Musk further elaborated on the project's potential, highlighting its innovative approach.
He remarked, 'It’s going to be great.
It’s going to be like a wormhole; you’re just going to wormhole from one part of the city, boom, and you're out in another spot of the city, and it's great.'
This partnership is a significant development in Dubai's efforts to enhance its transportation infrastructure.
The announcement coincides with the final day of the 12th World Government Summit, where discussions are focused on the impact of technological innovations on governance and public policy.
The summit also features sessions on global health, regulatory frameworks, and the integration of artificial intelligence in various sectors, attended by policymakers, industry leaders, and experts from around the world.
