Dubai Police Set Remote Visiting Hours for Inmates During Eid Al-Fitr
Virtual visitation service aims to connect inmates with their families domestically and internationally during the holiday.
The General Administration of Correctional and Penal Institutions at Dubai Police has announced the visiting hours for inmates during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday, providing a virtual visitation service for relatives of inmates both in the UAE and abroad.
Major General Marwan Abdul Karim Julfar, Director of the General Administration of Correctional and Penal Institutions, stated that the virtual communication service has seen considerable success since its inception, particularly as it facilitates contact between inmates and their families overseas.
The service will be available during the first and second days of Eid Al-Fitr, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Julfar emphasized that this initiative underscores Dubai Police’s commitment to providing a humane and supportive environment for inmates.
He noted that efforts have been made to ensure adequate logistical arrangements, enabling inmates to use electronic devices for communications, in collaboration with the General Department of Artificial Intelligence.
The communication process is facilitated through an electronic request submitted by the relatives of the inmates via the Dubai Police mobile application.
After submission, families receive a text message containing the specific link and the scheduled time for the virtual visit.
This initiative aims to strengthen family bonds during this significant occasion.
