Dubai Releases 86 Prisoners Involved in Rental Disputes Ahead of Eid Al Fitr
All inmates implicated in rental disputes are freed following settlements worth over Dh6.8 million as part of a humanitarian initiative.
In a significant humanitarian initiative marking the occasion of Eid Al Fitr, Dubai has announced the release of all 86 prisoners who were detained due to rental disputes.
The Dubai Rental Disputes Center, in collaboration with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian & Charity Est., facilitated this release by settling outstanding financial claims totaling over Dh6.8 million.
This initiative aims to assist affected families and ease the financial strains induced by rental disputes.
The decision aligns with the broader humanitarian strategies of the United Arab Emirates, emphasizing its commitment to support those in need.
It seeks to enhance family stability and assist individuals in overcoming financial adversities, showcasing the values of tolerance and social responsibility highlighted by the UAE leadership.
Judge Abdul Qader Mousa Mohammed, who chairs the Dubai Rental Disputes Center, noted the importance of this initiative, stating, "This initiative is a significant boost to our efforts to provide support to the underprivileged in accordance with the spirit of both law and humanity.
We will continue to collaborate with our partners and institutions to enhance social justice and provide transparent, people-centric services."
This initiative echoes previous efforts, as last month, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, ordered the release of 1,518 prisoners from various correctional and penal institutions in Dubai, spanning multiple nationalities.
The release of these prisoners comes before the festive period of Eid Al Fitr, intending to alleviate the burdens on families impacted by rental disputes, while also contributing to the UAE's efforts to foster social stability.
Further, Saleh Zahir Al Mazrouei, Director General of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian & Charity Est., expressed that the foundation's involvement reflects a commitment to community security and development.
He reiterated the aim of restoring family unity and providing individuals with a fresh start devoid of debt and judicial encumbrances.
The Dubai Rental Disputes Center remains dedicated to resolving conflicts and ensuring fairness in landlord-tenant relationships, utilizing a balanced approach that considers both legal frameworks and humanitarian needs.
The initiative represents a continued effort to promote social cohesion and uphold the UAE’s reputation as a leader in compassionate governance and just dispute resolution.
