The UAE emerges as a global hub for digital media with the launch of Creators HQ and innovative projects for influencers.
In a strategic move to consolidate its position as a leader in digital media, Dubai has inaugurated the Creators HQ at Emirates Towers, marking a pioneering step for the global content creation industry.
Coinciding with the third edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit, this initiative aims to elevate the UAE as a prime destination for content creators and industry leaders from around the world.
The Creators HQ is part of a broader initiative that includes a partnership with Meta, the parent company of social media giants such as
Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
Together, they have introduced the 'Creators for Purpose' program, designed to support regional creators in producing meaningful and positive content on social media platforms.
This program was unveiled at the Instagram Hub Pavilion during the summit, which brought together over 15,000 content creators and more than 420 prominent speakers globally.
A highlight of the summit was the announcement of new initiatives to support content creators, including the world's largest award for purposeful content creation, valued at $1 million, and the One Billion Pitches competition.
This competition successfully pooled together investments worth Dh50 million to nurture the creative ecosystem.
The UAE was strategically chosen for these initiatives due to its leadership in digital media innovation and an environment fostering inclusivity and diversity, hosting over 195 nationalities.
Moon Baz, Meta's Global Partnerships Lead for Africa, Middle East, and Turkey, underscored the alignment of the 'Creators for Purpose' program with the shared mission to promote content that positively impacts society.
Alia AlHammadi, Vice Chairperson of the UAE Government Media Office and CEO of the 1 Billion Followers Summit, emphasized the UAE's central role in crafting the future of digital content creation.
This initiative not only supports creators' growth but also marks a broader transition from traditional media to digital platforms, influencing societal narratives on a global scale.
The Creators HQ further seeks to draw 10,000 influencers to the UAE, providing them with exclusive benefits such as UAE Golden Visas, relocation support, and assistance with company setup.
Designed as a comprehensive support centre, it will host over 300 events and workshops annually, offering members opportunities to refine their craft and expand their influence.
Endorsed by leading social media platforms, the Creators HQ launched with 100 members representing esteemed creators from over 20 countries, supported by major industry players like TikTok, X, and Spotter.
The initiative aims to cultivate a robust content economy in the UAE, aligning with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision of fostering creativity and innovation.
Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, highlighted the significance of this development, which serves as a catalyst for maximizing the positive impact of content on community development.
He called for global content creators to convene in the UAE, leveraging its cultural diversity and access to funding and investment.
An annual training agenda has been established to nurture talent through innovative programs led by industry experts, encompassing areas such as branding, video production, and monetization.
This initiative also aims to create a dynamic creative ecosystem in collaboration with technology companies, focusing on areas like virtual and augmented reality and AI developments.
The Creators HQ sets the stage for Dubai's emergence as a strategic hub in the evolving digital landscape, bolstered by visionary leadership and strategic international partnerships.
