Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority Embraces AI for Sustainable Mobility
Matar Al Tayer announces ambitious plans to enhance transportation in Dubai through artificial intelligence and sustainable initiatives.
Matar Al Tayer, the Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), highlighted the organization's commitment to advancing transportation solutions during the opening speech at the Future of Mobility Forum, part of the 2025 World Government Summit.
Al Tayer reported that, over the past five years, the RTA has successfully reduced carbon emissions by 5 million tons.
He emphasized that Dubai is undergoing a transformation in its transportation landscape, noting several projects aimed at realizing the vision of 'Dubai, a 20-Minute City.' This initiative seeks to ensure all key destinations within the city are accessible within a 20-minute travel time.
Al Tayer also stated that the RTA is consistently working to incorporate artificial intelligence across all Dubai roads.
Various projects are underway to support this initiative, including the Blue Line, aerial taxis, and autonomous vehicles, all designed to enhance the mobility experience in Dubai.
These developments align with global trends towards smart transportation systems and sustainable urban planning.
