Dubai Showcases Technological Prowess at GITEX Europe in Berlin

The inaugural GITEX Europe event highlights Dubai's commitment to innovation and global tech leadership.
Dubai's ambition to be a leader in global technology took significant strides as the first-ever GITEX Europe commenced in Berlin, Germany.

Organized by the Dubai World Trade Centre, this event signifies a new phase in the UAE's digital expansion and an effort to foster cross-border innovation.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, expressed that the UAE is actively shaping the future of global technology, emphasizing the importance of collaboration for sustainable growth.

The UAE delegation included over 65 organizations, marking it as one of the largest missions focused on entrepreneurship and digital investment.

This group was led by Alia Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, representing the nation's commitment to establishing a robust global technology presence.

The event was officially opened by Minister Al Mazrouei alongside Berlin's Mayor Kai Wegner, with the presence of other dignitaries such as Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, CEO of Dubai Digital Authority, and Imran Sharaf, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Advanced Science and Technology.

During the opening tour, the Dubai pavilion was showcased, featuring 12 government and private entities displaying advanced digital services and solutions that reflect the city's leadership in adopting future technologies.

The Dubai pavilion serves as a strategic platform to highlight the collaborative efforts in utilizing artificial intelligence and digital transformation to enhance quality of life, support sustainable development goals, and reinforce Dubai's status as a global digital hub.

Some innovative initiatives on display included the Dubai Pulse, Dubai Observatory, Dubai Vault application, and the smart employee app, which provides sophisticated solutions for personnel management.

Additionally, the Dubai Now application is recognized as a unified platform for government transactions, while the digital identity app allows residents and tourists to register and verify their identities securely using facial recognition.

Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori stated that Dubai's participation in GITEX Europe demonstrates its commitment to enhancing international collaboration and knowledge exchange with leading global models, as well as showcasing its pioneering experience in employing artificial intelligence for digital transformation.

He highlighted that the pavilion exemplifies the integrated approach among Dubai's governmental entities, working cohesively to realize the vision of leadership in establishing Dubai as a global digital city.

The police force of Dubai, represented by Major General Khalid Nasser Al Rizwa, also participated, showcasing digital security services aimed at promoting the strategy of a 'Safe City'.

The initiative seeks to facilitate easier access to digital services for community members, reflecting Dubai's progress in digital services, particularly in public safety.

Various officials underscored that the unified representation of Dubai at GITEX Europe aligns with the ambitious objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to double the emirate’s economic size by 2033 and secure its position among the three most significant economic cities globally.

The Dubai Future Foundation, the Dubai Customs Authority, and the Dubai Department of Economic Development, among others, elaborated on their commitments to digital innovation and the establishment of a resilient framework for sustainable development.

The Dubai police further unveiled an intelligent robot, the Caliber Mini-FLEX, and announced a partnership with the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN) aimed at enhancing public safety and child protection initiatives.

The launch of the robot embodies Dubai’s strategic vision of utilizing advanced technology to bolster operational efficiency in complex environments.

The lightweight robot, equipped with high-definition cameras and a range of advanced features, is designed to support tactical operations.

This multifaceted event showcases Dubai's dedication to leading digital innovation, enhancing international partnerships, and advancing a comprehensive technological ecosystem in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
