Eid Al Fitr Prayer Timings and Celebrations Announced in the UAE
The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department confirms prayer schedules as the UAE prepares for Eid Al Fitr festivities.
In anticipation of Eid Al Fitr, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) in Dubai has officially announced that the ceremonial Eid prayers will commence at 6:30 AM across the emirate's mosques and prayer areas.
Over 680 locations will hold the prayers, which are set to begin approximately 15 to 20 minutes after sunrise.
In Dubai, where sunrise is expected at 6:08 AM, the timing aligns with similar schedules throughout the Emirates.
In Sharjah and the Hamriyah region, the Eid prayers are scheduled for 6:28 AM, while areas in the Eastern region of the emirate will begin at 6:25 AM. Ajman will follow Sharjah's timetable, also commencing prayers at 6:28 AM. Umm Al Quwain will hold prayers at 6:27 AM, closely following Sharjah and Ajman's timings.
Abu Dhabi, where the sun rises around 6:13 AM, will have its Eid prayers at 6:32 AM. Fujairah, experiencing an earlier sunrise at approximately 6:04 AM, is expected to hold prayers at 6:25 AM, similar to Ras Al Khaimah.
The Eid prayer, known as Salat Al Eid, includes two rakahs and is characterized by additional Takbirs (the declaration 'Allahu Akbar').
This significant prayer fosters community bonding and typically follows with a sermon (khutbah) by the Imam.
On another note, the Presidential Court of Abu Dhabi has declared that Sunday, March 30, will mark the first day of Eid Al Fitr in the UAE, following the sighting of the Shawwal crescent by the Moon-Sighting Committee.
This announcement prompts nationwide celebrations and gatherings as families conclude the month-long fast.
In light of the holiday, the UAE Cybersecurity Council has issued warnings regarding the potential rise in cyber threats.
Residents are urged to exercise caution, especially when dealing with emails and protecting personal data.
Recent efforts by the Cybersecurity Council reportedly thwarted significant cyberattacks targeting numerous government and private entities.
The Dubai Police have also announced plans to ensure security during the Eid festivities, with increased patrols in busy areas to enhance public safety.
Meanwhile, Dubai's Ambulance Services have confirmed readiness to respond quickly to any emergencies arising during the celebrations, staffing 138 points with a specialized team across the emirate.
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai has also shared operating hours for its services during the Eid break, ensuring continued support for residents and visitors throughout the holiday period.
