The Emirates Researchers Center for Studies and Research has been awarded the 'Peace Tree' prize during its participation in the Peace Iftar event organized by the Imams of France in Paris.
This accolade acknowledges the center's role in supporting research focused on tolerance and enhancing a culture of coexistence.
The award was presented to Dr. Fawaz Habhal, the center's Secretary-General, and Dr. Firas Habhal, the center's President and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees, during a ceremony attended by prominent diplomatic, religious, and intellectual figures.
Among the attendees were Élisabeth Borne, former Prime Minister of France, and Thani Muhammad, Minister of Francophonie in France, as well as Fahd Saeed Al-Raqbani, the UAE Ambassador to France.
The audience praised the center's efforts in promoting intercultural dialogue through its pioneering academic research.
Dr. Firas Habhal stated that the recognition reflects the center's ongoing commitment to providing scientific research that supports a culture of global tolerance and coexistence.
He emphasized that dialogue among civilizations is not merely a theoretical concept but a pressing necessity in today's world.
The receipt of the Peace Tree Award highlights the successes achieved during the second edition of the International Conference on Intercivilizational Dialogue and Tolerance, which attracted over 100 global speakers and 3,200 participants from 70 countries.
The conference featured the presentation of 20 research papers addressing issues of tolerance and coexistence, alongside 10 cultural and artistic performances that showcased cultural diversity and openness.
Among the conference's significant outcomes was the launch of the Coexistence Platform, a research initiative utilizing artificial intelligence techniques to enhance understanding of tolerance values through reliable sources.
This platform aims to be an influential knowledge tool in promoting a culture of coexistence globally.
