Extreme Heat and Weather Alerts Across UAE This Weekend
Temperatures soar to 50°C as National Center of Meteorology issues warnings for dust storms and rough seas.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) in the UAE has reported extreme weather conditions affecting the region, with significant temperature variations across different areas.
As of 1:45 PM on May 30, 2025, the highest temperature recorded in the country reached 50°C in Sweihan, Al Ain.
In contrast, the lowest temperature observed was 21.2°C at Barakah 2 in the Al Dhafra region at 5 AM.
Current weather in the UAE is characterized by generally fair conditions, although residents are advised to prepare for humid conditions during the night and into Saturday morning, particularly in coastal areas.
Light to moderate winds are anticipated, with occasional stronger gusts likely to generate blowing dust throughout the day.
The NCM has forecasted a slight decline in temperatures on Saturday, accompanied by partly cloudy skies.
Dusty conditions are expected intermittently, and the public has been warned of moderate to fresh northwesterly winds that may reach speeds between 15 and 30 km/h, with gusts potentially hitting 40 km/h. Such wind conditions are likely to reduce visibility in open areas due to the presence of sand and dust.
Maritime conditions are projected to deteriorate, with the Arabian Gulf expecting rough seas, while moderate to rough conditions will also develop in the Oman Sea by the evening hours.
Looking forward, the weather bureau has indicated that fluctuations in temperatures will persist across the UAE in the upcoming days, reflecting the changing patterns typical of the region's climate during this time of year.
