The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has announced the expansion of its educational initiatives in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through the launch of the 'Future of Energy and Artificial Intelligence Challenge.' This initiative is part of ADNOC's broader corporate social responsibility program aimed at fostering student skills in the United Arab Emirates and preparing them to proficiently utilize artificial intelligence tools and advanced technologies.
The final round of the challenge took place at the Abu Dhabi Energy Center, attended by prominent figures including His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and CEO of ADNOC and its group of companies, Her Excellency Sarah bint Yousef Al Amiri, Minister of Education, Dr. Abdullah Hamid Al Junaibi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy, and Her Excellency Hajar Ahmed Mohammed Al Dhaheri, Secretary-General of the Human Development and Education Council.
During the event, ADNOC showcased an artificial intelligence solution for future energy, named ENERGYai, developed in collaboration with AIQ.
This solution is touted as the world's first energy sector application based on AI agent systems, presented to an audience of students, parents, and teachers.
The challenge was launched in January 2025 and engaged 14,500 students from 351 schools across the UAE.
A total of 896 teachers played a pivotal role in assisting and supporting students in designing, building, and showcasing innovative solutions leveraging artificial intelligence.
The projects were evaluated based on three core themes: creating tangible and real impacts, presenting ambitious and innovative ideas that could reshape the future, and enhancing communication with the local community.
