Philippine Official Praises UAE as a Global Model for Migrant Worker Support
Philippine Labor Undersecretary highlights the UAE's commitment to protecting workers' rights during Independence Day celebrations.
Hanzo Liu Cacdac, the Philippine Undersecretary for Migrant Workers' Affairs, has commended the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for setting a global standard in the protection and welfare of migrant workers.
Speaking to the Emirates News Agency, he acknowledged the ongoing efforts of relevant authorities in ensuring the dignity and well-being of workers within the UAE.
Cacdac made these remarks during the 127th anniversary of Philippine Independence, known as Kalayaan 2025, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
This event was attended by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, along with various officials and members of the Filipino community.
Cacdac emphasized the strength of the bilateral relations between the Philippines and the UAE, commending the levels of cooperation in diverse sectors, particularly in the area of migrant worker support and protection.
The celebration, organized by the UAE Loves the Philippines platform in collaboration with the Dubai Police, attracted a large turnout from the Filipino expatriate community, reflecting the deep ties between the two nations.
Cacdac expressed contentment with the presence of the Filipino community in the UAE and noted that the relationship between the two countries has reached unprecedented levels.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Philippine Department of Migrant Workers to enhance these connections and expand bilateral cooperation to benefit Filipino workers in the UAE.
He extended gratitude to the UAE for its continuous support for the Filipino community, indicating that the occasion serves as a valuable opportunity to reaffirm the close partnership and maintain dialogue on improving the circumstances of migrant workers.
